What is PRESBYOND Laser Blended Vision?
PRESBYOND is a ZEISS treatment for presbyopia, delivered with the ZEISS MEL 90 excimer laser and ZEISS planning technology. Like LASIK, it reshapes the cornea using a personalised correction intended to broaden the range of focus.

How is PRESBYOND different from conventional monovision?

ZEISS reports that clinical studies found stereoacuity was largely maintained, with virtually no loss of contrast sensitivity and fewer multiple-image effects than conventional monovision. These group findings do not guarantee an individual result, and neither approach is better for everyone.
How does PRESBYOND correct presbyopia?
Presbyopia happens as the natural lens inside your eye becomes less flexible with age. PRESBYOND does not reverse that ageing process. Instead, it changes the shape of the cornea to increase the range over which each eye can focus.
In simple terms, one eye is planned slightly towards near vision and the other towards distance. A personalised laser profile extends each eye’s depth of focus so the ranges overlap, helping the brain combine information across everyday viewing distances.
Is PRESBYOND right for me?
PRESBYOND may be considered for adults with presbyopia, including some people who are short-sighted, long-sighted or have astigmatism. Being over 40 does not automatically make you suitable or unsuitable.

What happens during PRESBYOND treatment and recovery?
Because PRESBYOND is LASIK-based, treatment involves creating a corneal flap and using an excimer laser to apply the personalised correction. Anaesthetic eye drops are used, and you will receive instructions for the day of treatment and your post-operative care.
